At the end of Beelong Street, Cow Bay Conservation Foreshore protects a small patch of littoral rainforest beside Moreton Bay. It is a quiet place to pause and appreciate the island's coastal vegetation.

The Council describes this area as a high-diversity littoral strand rainforest, a plant community that is increasingly rare along the east coast.

Cow Bay Conservation Foreshore is included in the Council's Community Bushcare program (opens in a new tab), and the environmental land record (opens in a new tab) explains the significance of the rainforest.
